Shakiya Booker is a photographer and documentarian. In 2011, she received her first camera and never looked back. Shakiya is currently based in New York but her natural curiosity of the world has led her to living in Valencia, Spain and Washington, DC.
She obtained a dual Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Africana & Latino Studies from SUNY Oneonta in 2017. In 2021, she obtained a graduate certificate in Hospitality & Tourism from NYU and a Master's in Teaching from Relay Graduate School.
Shakiya combines her love for anthropology, traveling, and hospitality to capture raw emotions and the soul of her subjects.
